Galkas are a race of large humanoids with ursine features. They are a playable race and appear in the "Final Fantasy" series.

The goddess, Altana, having awaken from her sleep. Her tears caused five race to be born the Elvaan, Galka, Humans, Mithra and Tarutaru. The twilight god then struck a curse on these races after seeing what Altana did. This brought out these races darkest emotions. The Galka received rage as their curse.

The first recorded galka civilization was on Zepwell Island. After dwelling on the island for six hundred years, the antica attacked and forced the galka to flee to the Republic of Bastok via the Korroloka Tunnel.

Little information is known about galka reincarnation. Geriatric galkas will go into seclusion once they are deceased and are enveloped by a light. Eventaully, a lone child galka will wander into a village. A talekeeper, or leaders of the galka know information from the child's past life.
